It’s been a long 3 years in this industry & I wouldn’t trade it for anything, but if I were starting over I would do some things differently. Here are 3 of the biggest mistakes I made as a beginner nail tech:
1. Buying too much colored acrylic. I should’ve invested in better-quality gel polishes.
2. Not charging my worth for a VERY long time. I know it’s hard... but at some point you know when it’s time!
3. Not having a booking site, I was fortunate enough to have a small clientele starting out & scheduling through Instagram/ by hand was overwhelming on top of learning the skill! I would suggest free options like Squarespace!
