This film stars 7 of the Rescued, Raised & Released great bustards that were featured in our Bustard Watch series of films.

There were in fact 8 bustards released released on Salisbury plain in 2021 under the Rescue, Raise & Release project.

From 8 nests found in farmers’ crops, there were 15 eggs of which 13 hatched.

9 chicks survived and were 8 released (the ninth was taken to Watatunga Wildlife Park in Norfolk for possible captive breeding as it was found to have cataracts in both eyes and could not be released into the wild.)

There are 7 birds in this video as one bird flew off on the day of release. She has not been seen since.
