We like the Mazda CX-5, but seven years into the life of the second-gen SUV, it's finally starting to feel a little old - especially in the powertrain department where the thirsty turbo engine and lack of a hybrid option make it more costly to run than many rivals...some of which are actually cheaper to buy.

Time for Mazda to keep pushing the CX-5 forward, we reckon. Still, there are plenty of upsides, especially that the CX-5 is something of a driver's SUV.
