President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania hosted a National Day of Prayer dinner at the White House Wednesday evening, before 100 religious leaders of different faiths and politicians. The elegant dinner was held in anticipation of National Day of Prayer which officially falls on Thursday. During the dinner, Trump paid tribute to the lives lost in the Chabad of Poway synagogue shooting on Saturday and lamented the attacks on Christians in Sri Lanka on Easter and the attacks on Muslims in New Zealand the month before. In his speech, he said violence and terrorism against people of all faiths must end, and that 'all civilized nations must join together in this effort.' First Lady Melania dazzled at Trump's side in a cream-colored flower-embroidered gown for the event.
