US President Joe Biden received a huge ovation as he took the stage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, where he passed the torch to Kamala Harris as the party’s presidential nominee. After being introduced by his daughter Ashley, Biden was met with chants of "We love you, Joe." The 81-year-old, who exited the White House race in July, urged Americans to "put a prosecutor in the Oval Office instead of a convicted felon," referencing Harris's past role. In his speech, Biden also acknowledged the protesters outside the convention opposing Israel's war in Gaza, saying they "have a point."
