MADEIRA, PORTUGAL - Taking a ride on the Funchal Cable Car (teleférico do Funchal) and visiting the Monte Palace Tropical Gardens Madeira makes for a great day trip in Funchal Madeira, especially if you are visiting Madeira on a cruise and want a Funchal Cruise Day Trip. The cable car, located in the Funchal old town (zone velha) provides breathtaking views of Madeira's stunning capital city and the Funchal tropical garden provide a beauty and tranquility which make it a perfect day out. Of course, you cannot visit Madeira without eating some of the local food, so I also stop off to have a coffee from a local coffee roaster, ODD Roasters at a cafe called Land Food & Coffee, which is just next to the Monte cable car station. It turns out to be my favourite coffee in Funchal.
