This episode explores the life of Jagga Gurjar, one of Pakistan's notorious criminals, whose reign of illegal tax collection earned him the moniker "Jagga Tax." Born as Muhammad Sharif in Lahore in 1954, he later moved to Pakistan. Jagga gained infamy for avenging his brother's murder by the powerful Achha Shokarwala and eventually becoming a formidable gangster himself. In the 1960s, Lahore witnessed a wave of organized crime led by Achha Shokarwala, who had close ties with political figures.
Jagga's rise to prominence occurred when he successfully orchestrated an attack on Achha Shokarwala, leaving him injured and two of his men dead. Imprisoned for this act, Jagga continued to build his criminal network inside the jail. Upon his release, Jagga transformed into a feared mob boss, enforcing illegal taxes in Lahore. The term "Jagga Tax" became synonymous with his extortion activities.
As law enforcement intensified efforts against him, Jagga attempted to escape to Kashmir, but he was eventually cornered by the police. In a controversial encounter, Jagga was killed, and his death was publicised to dispel any doubts about the end of his reign..
