On June 23, 2022, the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) and the White House Office of Public Engagement hosted a special virtual event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Title IX and the legacy of Representative Patsy Takemoto Mink, the first woman of color and first Asian American woman to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives.
Senior administration officials, members of Congress, national leaders, and beneficiaries of Title IX joined together to highlight the progress made in advancing gender equity over the last 50 years.
