Alexander Glazunov's one-act allegorical ballet Les Saisons (The Seasons), Op. 67 was premiered at the Imperial Theatre of the Hermitage, Winter Palace in St. Petersburg, Russia on February 20th, 1900. The ballet's original commission was given to Riccardo Drigo while Glazunov was working on the ballet Les Millions d’Arlequin. The two composers had an affinity towards each other's topics, so they eventually switched.
