The MOT has also launched the first Electric Vehicle (EV) buses to be used as public transportation in Johor. Handal Indah Sdn Bhd, the Network Operator of myBAS Johor Bahru, will operate eight units of EV buses in phases throughout the year.
The EV buses will be deployed on myBAS Johor Bahru F100 and T13 routes, effective April 1, 2023.
This initiative is part of the Stage Bus Service Transformation (SBST) program, which aims to provide reliable connectivity and integrated bus services in Johor, especially to the 5 corridors in Johor where myBAS such as Pontina, Gelang Patah, Pasir Gudang, Masai, and Kota Tinggi.
The launching was held at the Larkin Sentral Bus terminal on March 28, 2023.
