In a bid to put an end to malicious online gaming platforms involved in wagering, addiction, and user harm risks, the Centre has taken the matter to the next level. Not only has the Centre decided to recognise such malicious applications, but they are also mulling over banning those apps from the Indian internet.
While speaking to ANI, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar on April 07 said, “Money online gaming applications will not be permitted if they involve wagering, addiction, addictive gaming and involves user harm. So if one of these three conditions is met, these games cannot be on the Indian Internet.”
