NuTone produced built-in Clock Chimes from the later 1950's through the early 1970's
The clock mechanism in all NuTone Clock Chimes are powered by a General Electric Telechron clock motor.
It is very common for the grease in the Telechron motor unit to harden with age and the clock will stop running.
In this Video, I show a simple and fairly easy method to solve this common problem.
This type of repair requires some patience and a little skill.
If you attempt to try this repair, do it with the understanding that if you foul it up - your clock will likely never work again - so proceed with care and caution that any vintage piece of equipment deserves.
