Best food at the Christkindlmarket!
1. Raclette Sandwich from Baked Cheese Haus (booth #15)
First up an ooey gooey raclette sandwiches. Sweet melted cheese is scraped into a baguette. Include a brat (or keep it vegetarian), add some mustards, spring onions, and enjoy.
2. Grilled Cheese Pretzel from Stuffed Gourmet Pretzels (booth #2)
Try a German soft pretzel stuffed with cheese. The Stuffed Gourmet pretzel stand has other tempting flavored pretzels like jalapeno.
3. Glühwein in a Signature Mug (booths #1, #55 and #28)
You can’t leave the Christkindlmarket without the signature mug. The souvenir mug changes every year but it’s always full of warm Glühwein. AKA mulled wine. 2018's mugs are heart-shaped and adorable!
4. German-Roasted Candied Nuts from Sweet Swabian (Booth #19)
The sweet smell of these Bavarian nuts will make your mouth water. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, try the candied pecans and caramel cashews!
5. Bratwurst from German Grill (Booth #6, #12, #13)
Finally, of course, there’s the bratwurst. A popular order is a Kilometer which is a pork sausage spiced with paprika and cayenne pepper. Add some sauerkraut to top it off!
The Christkindlmarket is such a fun way to celebrate the holidays and try some German food! If I left any of your favorites off of this list, be sure to share in the comments below!
