Transcript:
International Women’s Day is a day where we celebrate the social, cultural, political, economic and political achievements of women across the world, and also really calls out the need for gender equality.
For me it’s important as a woman in the working world, really, that we do continue to champion International Women’s Day. It’s 100 years since we got the vote – or since some women got the vote – in the UK, and it’s something to be celebrated. However, there is so much more to be done in terms of gender equality. You know, we’ve got equal pay issues, we’ve got various discrimination issues, but days like International Women’s Day helps people to keep that issue on the agenda and helps us to keep championing that cause. It’s really important women’s rights are kept to the forefront of the agenda.
