According to the most recent updates of Mirror Now, the supreme court seeks PM Narendra Modi's government's view on a petition filed in 2010 by former prime minister Manmohan Singh's government for additional compensation for the gas disaster at Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) pesticide plant in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, of 1.2 billion dollars. The centre has sought the centre's response by October 11. The curative petition was dismissed by the court, but the hearing on the civil curative petition has not yet begun. The case was the Bhopal Gas Leak in 1984. The plea in the apex court was for a direction for an additional Rs 7,143 crores of aid.
