Nearly 300 people were on board Flight MH17 as it crashed in eastern Ukraine. The plane flew the route from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia Airlines says it lost contact while it was in Ukrainian airspace. The jet crashed near the village of Grabovo, which is about 50 kilometres from Ukraine's border with Russia.
