Day 5 mile 128 to mile 149. On this day we will run Bedrock Rapid, hike to Salt Deposits, raft to the narrowest point in the Grand Canyon 75 feet wide near mile 136, hike back into Deer Creek and visit Deer Creek Falls. Bedrock Rapid, 6-8 on the Grand Canyon Scale. Shallows and rocks at the top right of the rapid. You will need to pull in left of the rocks and then pull right to avoid the large boulders in the center of the river. Deer Creek flows down from springs and through side canyons on the north side of the Colorado River and the Grand Canyon. It’s a stunning creek that flows through spectacular canyons as it winds its way toward the Colorado. It ends its journey with a 180 foot plunge down Deer Creek Falls.
This is truly, a once in a life time trip.
