Our inverter RCD offers a simple, cost effective, convenient & reliable solution to add RCD (Residual current device) safety protection to the power outlet of your inverter.

The majority of inverters available are generally only intended for use with class 2 double insulated electrical appliances that do not require an earth connection, however most people will want to use class 1 electrical appliances that do require an earth connection, therefore it is an essential safety precaution that an RCD is used after the inverters power outlet and before any electrical appliances to disconnect the power supply should a fault occur.

Inverters generally do not produce a true earth and require the use of earth neutral bonding in order for an RCD to function correctly, so an RCD simply connected after the inverters power outlet will not function correctly without an earth neutral bond, the RCD will trip using it’s internal circuitry when it’s test button is pressed, however if a fault occurs downstream after the RCD it will not trip if a fault occurs.

Our inverter RCD is assembled using only the highest quality CE & BS certified components and all unit’s are fully inspected & tested before being dispatched. The unit has a selectable earth neutral bond to ensure the RCD functions correctly, it is a plug & play unit and no electrical experience is required and no electrical work requires being undertaken to install the unit, however you can easily & quickly mount the unit if required by using appropriate screws / nuts & bolts through the four pre drilled holes behind the four cover screws.
