A police corporal has been remanded for five days for investigation after being suspected of soliciting an RM80,000 bribe to assist in securing the release of a woman's husband, who was detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma).

Magistrate Azlan Basri issued the remand order, which will last from today until Dec 23.

The suspect, in his 40s, arrived at the court handcuffed and wearing a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) lock-up shirt at 8.40am.
