JAMMU LINKS NEWS | Four alleged drug smugglers were arrested after 120 kg of poppy straw and over 3,000 intoxicant capsules were recovered from their possession on Sunday, police said.
According to reports on tip off, a police party headed by SI Pawan Dogra Police Post Tikri Chib under the supervision of Dy SP ZS Wani laid a routine Naka near Police Post Tikri on Jammu Srinagar National Highway. During search of a Tata Mobile (JK14B-7232) which was on its way to towards Punjab from Srinagar, police recovered 120kg poppy straw kept inside it.
Four accused identified as Yawar Ahmed Ganai son of Abdul Ahad Ganai resident of Kakran Kulgam, Tariq Ahmed Malik son of Ali Mohd resident of Qazigund Kulgam, Nand Kishore son of Bishan Dutt resident of Jaganoo and Narinder Singh son of Shanker Singh resident of Sukki Karlai in Udhampur were arrested and a case vide FIR No. 193/18 under section 8/15/29 NDPS Act was resgitered against them.
