Join Philip as he visits Tallinn, capital of Estonia, in the cold and with its beauty accentuated even more by the snowy scenes all around. We walk around the ancient city walls and survey the magnificent view of the entire town from the hill overlooking this magnificent and majestic setting.
Philip also discovers the Estonian passion for traditional gingerbread which features in every Christmas meal in the country. Therefore perhaps its not surprising that a local annual exhibition and competition for the best creative piece of gingerbread is held in the city annually. Philip takes a look and even discovers the gingerbread making workshop inside that helps over 2,000 people - young and old - learn this valued craft every year.
Along the way we even meet the Russian Father Christmas dressed in his traditional blue and white! (Just like Philip's favourite football team: Ipswich Town!)
Then we enjoy the city's Christmas market and Philip makes some new friends including Michael and Melanie. Together they learn about the varied mulled wines available for tasting and enjoy the unique flavour of mulled wine fortified by the local liquor, Vana Tallinn.
