We're letting go of our 1973 VW Campmobile Westfalia after 3 generations. We just don't have the space anymore. It's never been in an accident as you can see from the pictures. There's obvious wear and tear after 40 years, but if you're looking at this you know that's expected.
Perfect time to start your #vanlife or just make this your project car to show off. I have the recent paperwork of all the repairs I've paid for (well over $5k).
To save everyone time, I'm going to do my best to provide you with the maintenance notes along with the pros and cons.
Recent maintenance repairs have been done within the last 2,000 miles include:
Metal plate left, cylinder repair, brake replacement, brake shoe replacement, motor GMP seal, spark plugs, reset point set, GMP, FR vacuum hoses, resister long replacement, pop cover replacement, pushrod tub and seal replacement, 1201 coil replacement, UIC gasket replacement, replace front brake hoses, replace air hoses and clamps, replace shift coupler and bushings, replace oil switch and connector, replace fuel lines, replace left and right carbs, replace dipstick boot, replace flywheel seal, replace transmission bell housing, swap ring at mainshaft, replace transmission fluid, replace needle bearings, replace clutch, replace distributor, and reset timing belt
Pros - works and runs perfectly normal, under carriage is clean of most rust, all windows are original factory, all windows work, hot and cold air works (but not A/C),
Cons - there are cosmetic things like chipped paint, rust, scratches, etc. I took as many pictures as I can so there are no hidden surprises, you'll need to replace the original gasket around the front windshield, back right tail light is not connected, right side mirror fell off, upholstery is not in the perfect shape (rips, tears, etc)
