In this video, I demonstrate how to cook the famous Thai food "GOONG OB WONSEN". Also, in this video is a glimpse of how the LOCAL MARKET here in Nathawee looks like every morning and during this pandemic.Due to the global pandemic, this market is close every Tuesday for cleaning and disinfection.
GOONG OB WONSEN/GINGER SHRIMP AND GLASS NOODLES is a very popular Thai dish that you can find it in every menu of many restaurants around Thailand.Its usually cook in a clay pot which is also use for serving the dish. Goong means shrimp. Ob means baked, cooked in a small space until the sauce dried up. Wonsen means the glass noodles.
Here are the complete recipe:
GOONG OB WONSEN/GINGER SHRIMP AND GLASS NOODLES
1/2 cup chicken stock
2 tbsp oyster sauce
2 tbs soy sauce
1 tsp black soy sauce
1tsp sesame oil
2 tsp palm sugar/regular sugar
80 g glass noodles (soak in the water for a few minutes to soften)
10 medium shrimp
1/2 tsp white and black pepper corn
6 cloves of garlic
8 cilantro stems
15 slices of ginger
3 tbsp pork fat/oil
