Finding the best Sony FDR-AX53 lens hood suitable for your needs isnt easy. With hundreds of choices can distract you. Knowing whats bad and whats good can be something of a minefield

Tulip lens hoods are for wide angle lenses like the AX53

If you use a standard hood while recording, the image stabilization picks up the sides of the hood while it is stabilizing the lens in the recorded image.The trick here is to use a larger sun hood. To do this you will need a STEP-UP lens adapter from the 55mm to size of the hood that you wish to fit.

How I have done mine you don’t have to worry about darkening of the corners (Vignetting).
