A gun salute shattered the quiet peace of Kaberamaido district as police officers, mourners and residents laid to the grave the remains of a former Superintendant of Police, Richard Yairo Ekadu who died at the age of 85 years. Richard Yairo Ekadu who joined the Uganda Police by then called the White Police in 1955 when Uganda was still under the British protectorate and retired in 1990 was buried at his ancestral birthplace in Oyalem village, Bululu Sub County.The Regional Police Commander for North Kyoga, John Ematu, hailed the deceased for his diligent work and mentor many professional police officers emulate.
