Hyderabad | The State government’s notification for opening of new liquor outlets received an enthusiastic response with prospective applicants submitting their request for allotment of almost all the 2,216 shops notified.
The Excise and Prohibition Department has received applications for 2,200 shops by afternoon on Tuesday, the last day for submission of the applications. It had enhanced the fee from ₹ 50,000 to ₹ 1 lakh for the excise year 2017-19 to ensure that only serious contenders submit the applications.
