The well-being of individuals is more important now than ever. The effects of the pandemic have been challenging for all individuals from all aspects. Join Sherry Haskins, MBSR Level One Trainer and Teresa Salama, Certified Wellness Practitioner from the Healthy Arizona Worksites Program team for a discussion on how worksites can support Mental Health for their employees and how wellness programs can operate virtually during these challenging times.
Teresa Salama, MHA, CWP is the Healthy Arizona Worksites Program Trainer and Coordinator at the Maricopa Department of Public Health and has presented nationally on Worksite Wellness. She has over ten years of experience in the private and public sector providing a high level of expertise in supporting employers in developing comprehensive evidence-based wellness programs. Teresa's experience includes supporting healthcare organizations that meet accreditation measures, presenting to private employers and building strong partnerships with community organizations. Sherry Haskins, MPA has been the manager of the Healthy Arizona Worksites Program, a state-wide initiative aimed at helping Arizona employers successfully implement evidence-based healthy worksite initiatives to improve the health of their employees and businesses. In her previous role she served as the Arizona Department of Health Services Worksite Wellness manager and administered the Health in Arizona Policy Initiative (HAPI) focusing on reducing chronic disease through policy, system and environmental change. Sherry has served diverse populations and lived in rural communities throughout her career. She has presented at state, national and international conferences speaking on a variety of public health topics. Sherry holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration (MPA) from Arizona State University, the National Wellness Institute Worksite Wellness Program Manager Certification (CWWPM) and has recently received the Brown University Mindfulness Center, MBSR Teacher Level 1 Credential.
