If you follow us, you know that we are mostly interested in how locals spend time without spending too much money. That means we learn about the culture and lifestyle, foods, and what makes one culture different from another.
So tonight we will be looking for what Filipinos do to have a good time for $5 or $10. A friend of ours told us about this outdoor live music food and drink venue where Filipinos go to laugh and have a good time, and maybe even sing or dance.
The food was around $2-3, the live music was free and the beer was about $1.20 each. The most interesting thing is always watching how Filipinos love music and good laughs.
The food was mostly BBQ pork, chicken, beef and seafood. We noticed that Filipinos love meat on a stick, especially at night once they have had a few drinks. Once they have a full belly and little buzz, they like to tease their friends to get up and sing karaoke.

After we finished enjoying the evening in the outdoor tent called Hott Asia Bazaar, we decided to head over to the area where we went bar hopping last month. They have all sorts of different styles of bars and we even make a map to help you find your way around the party area.
There were a bar with live rock music, an older crowd mostly foreigners, there was a cocktail lounge or two with modern electronic music and extravagant drinks that was full of mostly young professionals, and there was everything in between, even a bar where foreigners go to meet ladies of the evening.

We felt safe walking around and were in the area until about midnight. It was interesting to see all the different kinds of places that you can go and experience while you are in Makati metro manila.
The bar hopping area was only about 3 blocks from the outdoor party tent. So we just walked over there. We ran into some fun people and ended up chatting the night away about how different the Filipinos are from what we learn in movies and online.

My 4 favorite bars are Agimat, Kampai, Cubano and Bourbon New Orlean. Google map link of my favorite 4 bars is in my youtube description. I enjoy Agimat because it is high end with fancy cocktails and home brew beer, and live acoustic music. Kampai is full of young people enjoying electronic music and dance and entertainment bar tenders mixing drink and friendly security guards.Cubano was great because it had live old school rock music and people watching at an outdoor table. Bourbon is private with pool table, great music and beautiful ladies of the evening meeting foreigners. Kampai is full of young people enjoying electronic music and dance and entertainment bar tenders mixing drink and friendly security guards.

The Philippines are much more interesting place than we ever would have thought based on the stereo type you heard about in the media. We have a really good time and we will be back whenever we are near metro manila.
