Nasrin Sotoudeh, an Iranian lawyer and human rights defender was awarded the Robert Badinter Public Grand Prix at the closing ceremony of the 8thWorld Congress Against the Death Penalty.
Iran Human Rights Director, Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam accepted the prize on behalf of Nasrin Sotoudeh and read her message.
Christiane Taubira, former French Minister of Justice, announced and handed the prize to Professor Amiry-Moghaddam.
