The Church Studio was built in 1915, but came to life in 1972 when Leon Russell purchased the old church and turned it into a recording studio and home office for Shelter Records. Purchased by Teresa Knox and Ivan Acosta, the church is undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation to bring it back to life as a recording studio, event center, audio engineering school, gallery/exhibit space, and entertainment network. The Church Studio is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
