With a group of supporters who erupted with applause, Post 2 Commissioner Todd Pownall was in form, rising from the commission bench three times to defend himself over charges that he did not fulfill his promise to donate his salary the first two years at least until resident Mike Fritz called him on the promise presumably a few weeks ago.

Both Pownall and David Barnett, as part of their 2010 election campaign, agreed to donate their salaries for the first two years. Barnett completed his promise earlier this year. The first two years of service for both men ended in January.

The county post two and post four seats will be up for re-election in the summer of 2014 and the winners in that contest will take office in January 2015.
