The Election Commission of India (ECI) has lifted the suspension of Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Anjani Kumar. Anjani Kumar was suspended by the poll body for violating the model code of conduct on the day of vote counting for the Telangana assembly. This action was taken after he met Congress candidate Anumula C, who is now the chief minister of the state.
The DGP, along with state police nodal officer Sanjay Jain and nodal officer (expenditure) Mahesh Bhagwat, visited Revanth Reddy with a bouquet of flowers at his residence in Hyderabad. Following Kumar's suspension, senior IPS officer Ravi Gupta was given the full additional charge as the DGP of Telangana.
