Nizhne-Chemskaya ( Lower Chely ) is a village located on the west bank of the Ob River , in a district of modern Novosibirsk.
In 1950, work on the future Novosibirsk Hydro-electric station began and the workers were housed in the outskirts of the village. . Fridland arrived to photograph the construction in 1956 and, presumably decided to visit the school and take these charming photographs of the pupils......
