Jyotiraditya Scindia, who quit the Congress party in a dramatic turn of events, is expected to join BJP today. On Tuesday, Scindia met Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi and tendered his resignation from Congress membership to Sonia Gandhi. With Jyotiraditya Scindia and 22 other MLAs loyal to him quitting the Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh, the Congress-led government is on the brink of toppling as the numbers stack up in BJP's favour.
Meanwhile, BJP MLAs from Madhya Pradesh reached Delhi late night and are camping at a hotel in Gurugram. While the Congress has 114 MLAs, the BJP has 107 legislators in the 230-member MP assembly. With the 22 MLAs submitting their resignations to the governor, the Kamal Nath government has lost its majority in the House.
