"Bentonville Arkansas has been transformed into one of the most popular mountain bike destinations in the country by the development of creative and unique trail networks for all skill levels that connects neighborhoods to parks, schools, and the downtown area. Creating access to trails close to home has inspired all ages of users to get outside to walk, run and ride.

The trails have not only brought about a surge in economic prosperity but have also played a pivotal role in attracting talented individuals and industries to relocate to the region. Furthermore, they have significantly enhanced the overall quality of life for the local citizens. " Gary is the Director of Outdoor Recreation and Trail Innovation for Runway Group and is considered one of the leading experts in developing mountain bike trail systems. His work over the past decade has been supporting the vision of Steuart and Tom Walton by overseeing design and construction of over 600 miles of world class mountain bike trails and growing around the State of Arkansas and other locations. His work includes the Oz Trails region of Northwest Arkansas as well as the Arkansas State Parks Monument Trail projects. In 2019 he was the recipient of the American Trails Chairman award for advancing trail design and changing the landscape for trail systems. His role has recently expanded to include other forms of outdoor recreation that includes creating world class climbing, paddling and other outdoor recreation experiences.
