HELME
Musicalized Drama - Arr. Raúl García Zárate
Performer - Camilo Pajuelo Valdez
This beautiful arrangement for guitar solo by Raúl García Zárate is based on the plot of a tragic love story placed in Ayacucho, Peru, in the 18th century. The story of Helme's impossible love flows without pausing through three stages: Dialogue, Tragedy and Ayataki (dirge).
Location:
Seurasaari, Kalevalakehto (Shaman's Haven of the Kalevala)
Helsinki, Finlandia
The Kalevalakehto was designed and built by American and Finnish students of architecture and design during Spring and Summer 2010. The installation evokes the poetry of the Kalevala national epic, and the stories of its ancient rune-singers. The product of the essence of Helsinki and Kalevala mythology, it is a meeting place to evoke the deepest thinking.
