Corey Anton is Associate Professor of Communication Studies at Grand Valley State University. He is an award-winning teacher and author. His books include: Selfhood and Authenticity (SUNY Press, 2001) and Sources of Significance (Purdue University Press, 2010), as well as the edited collection Valuation and Media Ecology: Ethics, Morals, and Laws (Hampton Press, 2010). Past Chair of the Semiotics and Communication Division of the National Communication Association, he is a Fellow of the International Communicology Institute, and serves on the Board of Directors for the Media Ecology Association and on the Board of Trustees for the Institute of General Semantics. About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized. (Subject to certain rules and regulations.)
