Southport Marine Lake is a leisure lake in the seaside town of Southport lying between the town and the beach. It is over 1 mile long and was built with the nearby King's Gardens in the year 1887. Over the summer season thousands of people enjoy the many water activities on the lake, from relaxing pedalo's to more thrilling speed boat rides.
There are cafes and leisure attractions around the lake and along the pier. The nearby Ocean Plaza retail and leisure complex includes a cinema together with restaurants and shopping.
The Marine Lake is within easy walking distance of Southport's fashionable town centre with shopping opportunities, eating places, coffee shops and hotels.
Southport is one of the north's top leisure and retail destinations. Situated 20 miles north of Liverpool it booms with visitors, especially during the summer months.
