Montreal's director of Public Health Dr. Mylène Drouin announced during Sunday’s briefing there were 146 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the city to 1,361.
Among those cases are 82 healthcare workers affected by COVID-19, 83 people hospitalized and 13 in intensive care units.
City officials announced during the briefing that fines will be issued for people and businesses that don't obey public health measures aimed at limiting the spread of COVID-19 in the city.
Earlier Sunday, Quebec's health officials announced a total of 342 new cases across Quebec, bringing the total number of cases to 2,840. The number of deaths remain at 22.
