How can we leverage Influencer and Brand campaigns to promote sustainability?
Sustainable practices rely very heavily on communities making very deliberate changes. When we zoom in, we find that sustainability and reducing carbon footprints are predicated on the changes communities are willing to make at the individual level. In the current climate, we are not able to make these changes fast enough to have the desired impact. Many believe that Brands and the environment are at odds with each other.
We believe that society and the environment can co-exist if we re-engineer our thinking and habits in a mindful way.
Brands and Influencers can be at the heart of this change. Making use of their influence over their followers they can help to popularise healthier and more sustainable habits and choices. Leveraging this very powerful tool of influence to drive more resilience within communities can have a profound impact. Brands can certainly reinforce their values and commitment to be planet friendly through well thought out campaigns.
In an era where social media reigns supreme as a source of information and education, an information era where most younger consumers are highly influenced by platforms like TikTok, we can nudge consumer behaviour with subtle and not so subtle nudges. Shifting consumer mindsets away from binary thinking to a growth mindset on a continuum of smaller daily choices and habits has an exponential effect. Then scaling the effects of individual consumers into mass action around the globe. Incentivising consumers and brands alike to actively participate in noteworthy shifts can be the game changer we are all searching for.
