is an astrophysicist and aerospace engineer with a Ph.D. in Astrophysics from the University of Glasgow (Scotland). She is a self-professed science fiction nerd and works Dr. Erin Macdonald is a consultant to Hollywood writers and producers, imparting her knowledge and scientific accuracy for projects including video games, TV, and film, most recently consulting on Orbital Redux.

Dr. Erin’s specialty is general relativity, having previously worked in the LIGO Scientific Collaboration (Nobel Prize Winners) searching for gravitational waves. She’s also a contributor to StarTrek.com.

CJ got a chance to chat with her for a bit ahead of her panels at the convention to get an understanding of what her job entails. Fun times!
