If you want a Jazzmaster with a certain look—that look being off-white/cream with an anodized pickguard—you've got choices. The main three are Fender Vintera ii '50s Jazzmaster, Squier 40th Anniversary Vintage Jazzmaster, or the Squier J Mascis Jazzmaster.

You could go with the higher-end Fender Vintera ii '50s Jazzmaster, which is largely true to the '50s vintage vibe. You could save some money and choose the Squier 40th Anniversary Vintage Jazzmaster which has a fair amount of modern touches. Or, you could say "to hell with it, I'm here to be loud" and get the J Mascis Jazzmaster.
So I asked my friend @nisebelle to come by and help me decide what the ultimate ruler of this JM aesthetic is. And all I can say is, at least one of us could play guitar that day, because I was worthless, dudes.
