Perisher is located in the Kosciuszko National Park and is about a 5-hour drive from Sydney and a 7-hour drive from Melbourne.

How to get there:
Driving is the easiest way to get to Perisher. If you drive up there, you have to pay the National Park entry fee into Kosciuszko National Park of $29 per day for each vehicle.
All 2WD vehicles must carry snow chains in winter, between June and October long weekends.
The roads are not so difficult to drive but still, you should pay attention and drive carefully as they can be icy roads.
There is a huge car park right in front of the Center.

A free shuttle runs between Perisher Valley and Smiggin Holes. It arrives every 15 minutes from 7.30 am to 6 pm daily. Smiggin Holes is a fantastic place for beginner riders or young children. I'll cover it in another video on our channel.

Toboggan & snow play:
Perisher has a dedicated area for snow play and toboggans next to the car park.
You can climb up to the top of the snow play areas. The view at the top is amazing.

Skii:
Perisher is a very family-friendly resort. It has 119 ski runs, the longest run is about 3km with 47 lifts. Perisher offers a diverse variety of terrain to keep skiers of all abilities happy with 22% beginner trails, 60% intermediate, and 18% advanced trails.

Lift tickets:
You can buy single-day or multi-day lift tickets. Single-day lift tickets provide one full day’s lift access for skiing and snowboarding at Perisher’s four resort areas including Perisher Valley, Blue Cow, Guthega, and Smiggin Holes. Single-day lift tickets are $116 for children 5 to 14 years old and $225 for adults. If you don’t know how to ski yet or you're a beginner, you probably don’t need to buy lift tickets.

Lessons:
Ski and snowboard lessons are available throughout the season. You can book 2-hour lessons for adults and 3-hour lessons for kids 3-15 at either Perisher Valley or Smiggin Holes. Limited private lessons are also available. You have to purchase ski lift passes separately. Lessons are booked online and can be sold out very fast, you should book lessons well in advance.

Equipment hire:
There are snow sports rental stores in Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, and Bullocks Flats. Rental at the resorts is often expensive. You can try the rental stores in nearby villages like Jindabyne to keep the costs down.

Accommodation:
Perisher has a small village at the base of the mountain with several hotels. There isn’t that much ski-in ski-out accommodation at Perisher and many places require a short walk to get to the lifts.
Staying at Perisher is convenient to get to the slopes but is quite costly.
Alternatively, you can stay in the nearby town Jindabyne. It's 33km from Perisher and has a wide range of accommodation, including camping, and facilities such as restaurants, a supermarket, and rental stores.

Food
There is a big food court right inside Perisher Center and many Bar and Cafe shops around the area. It can be very crowded with long queues during peak periods.
