After failing to complete my hike of the GR738 because of too much snow, I had to change my plans and look for other hikes at a slightly lower elevation.

After completing The Chartreuse Crossing, we found that the Crossing of the Bauges Massif was a great continuation - starting where we'd finished in Chambéry, and taking us 53 miles to the beautiful town of Annecy

Again, I was joined by Josh, a medical student that I'd met on my final day of the GR738.

For anyone thinking of doing the hike, we tackled it in early to mid June, and there was no snow at all on the trail. Bear in mind that a lot of the shops where you can re-supply on food and provisions in the small towns and villages along the route close during the afternoon.
