Original title: Wielkie Miasta Rzeszów
Warsaw and Rzeszów – these are the two top-ranked towns in Poland which are most likely to experience a dynamic expansion in the years to come. The potential of Polish metropolitan cities has been just assessed by the analytics of the Polityka Insight Centre, a Polish organization for monitoring social changes, and the results of their research have appeared in the so-called Learning Cities Ranking. Surprisingly high in the ranking, as it turned out, scored some middle-sized towns. And apparently, Rzeszów, the capital of the south-east region of Subcarpathia, a town located off the country’s borders with Ukraine and Slovakia, ranked the highest. The material looks into the challenges and dilemmas of a rapidly-expanding city on the outskirts of the European Union territory.
