Hi this is Steve from Ken Jones Tires. Today I want to talk about how to buy lawn tractor tire chains. No matter what brand of lawn tractor you operate, here are some general guidelines for buying chains.

Clearance
First you need to know if you have enough clearance for chains. Generally you need about 2 inches of clearance. So take your tape measure and make sure you have 2 inches between the inner tire and the machine body.
Tire Size
The next thing you need to know is your tire size. Generally a chain will fit one or two different tire sizes, and in some cases there are tire sizes with no chain fitment. In that case we can help you find the best available fitment.
Work Environment
Next, you need to consider your work environment. Is your property or driveway flat or do you have a steep incline? On both terrains, icy, hard pack snow requires chains.
Tire Tread
