At least 50 people,mainly children, were killed and up to 17 injured when a train crashed into a school bus in Egypt. The accident happened in the town of Assuit, around 300km south of Cairo. Reports said the crossing barriers were not lowered when the train entered the crossing as the guard had fallen asleep. Witnesses said the train carried the bus about a mile along the track following the impact.
