STORYLINE:
Protests were held in various cities around the world on Monday to demonstrate against China's deadly crackdown in Tibet, as the Olympic torch started its round-the-world torch relay ahead of the 2008 Beijing Games.
In Nepal police broke up a protest by more than 100 Tibetans in front of the Chinese Embassy's visa office in Kathmandu and arrested all the participants.
"Free Tibet, stop killing in Tibet," the protesters chanted.
Police said more than 100 people were arrested.
Security was stepped up around the visa office on Monday after some protesters managed to reach the gate and tried to storm it on Sunday.
Monday's protest was latest near-daily demonstration by Tibetan refugees and monks in Nepal's capital against China's recent crackdown in Tibet.
They have been protesting in front of the Chinese Embassy visa office, the United Nations offices, and in a government district.
A group of 200 Tibetan exiles and Buddhist monks tried to storm the visa office on Sunday but police beat them back with bamboo batons.
At least 130 protesters were arrested and some demonstrators and police were injured in the scuffle.
Nepal has said it will not allow protests against any "friendly nation," including China.
International rights groups have repeatedly criticised Nepal's handling of the protests by Tibetans, including the beating of protesters.
