Methods and Significance of Textile Waste Recycling
The method and significance of textile waste recycling, with the improvement of people's living consumption level, the use cycle of textiles is getting shorter and shorter, and the recycling, processing and utilization of waste textiles has reached a point that cannot be ignored.
The recycling and reuse of waste textiles is an emerging industry with rich resources, low investment and significant benefits. It can not only alleviate the shortage of resources in the textile industry, but also reduce the pollution caused by textiles to the environment, which has great economic and social benefits. Benefits benefit the country and the people.
Sources and Recycling of Waste Textiles
The waste textiles mainly refer to the leftover short fibers, waste yarn, recycled silk, scraps, etc. produced in the production process, as well as waste textiles and clothing and their products.
Waste and old textiles mainly come from two parts: one is from the production enterprises, which will produce leftover short fibers, waste yarn, recycled silk, waste cloth noil, etc. in the processes of spinning, weaving, and finished product production and processing. On the other hand, waste textiles from daily life, such as old clothes, bedding, towels, carpets, etc.
The recycling and classification of waste textiles is particularly important to whether waste textiles can be fully and effectively reprocessed and utilized.
Recycling methods of waste textiles
At present, the recycling methods of waste textiles mainly include: physical recycling, chemical recycling and energy recycling.
(1) Physical recycling is to use mechanical aids to decompose or crush textiles, without destroying the chemical structure of high polymers, without changing their composition, by collecting, sorting, purifying, drying, adding necessary additives for processing, and then reprocessing For the production of fabrics. Physical recycling is often used for single-component natural fibers or synthetic fibers, such as the recycling of waste wool fibers and the recycling of polyester fibers. However, for blended fibers, due to the difficulty in classification, its applicability is relatively poor. Physical recycling has high technical requirements, difficult classification, many pre-treatment machines and equipment, high cost, and complicated recycling process.
(2) Chemical recycling is to use chemical methods to process waste textiles, to depolymerize, decompose and repolymerize high molecular polymers in waste textiles such as natural fibers or chemical fibers to obtain monomers, and then use these monomers to make new fibers. Chemical recycling is not suitable for natural fibers. Due to the complex composition of natural fibers, it is almost impossible to sort and recycle them. For synthetic fibers, chemical recovery can be used, but the chemical recovery process is quite complicated, and many chemical solvents and chemical substances need to be added, which makes the recovery cost correspondingly increased and difficult to apply.
(3) Energy recovery is to convert chemical fibers with high calorific value in waste textiles into heat through incineration for thermal power generation. This method is suitable for waste textiles that cannot be recycled.
With the shortage of raw material resources and the need to protect the environment, more and more attention has been paid to the recycling of waste textiles. In recent years, with the development of science and technology, the manufacturing level of machinery and equipment supporting the recycling and reuse of waste textiles has also been continuously improved, and the types of waste textiles that can be recycled and reused are also increasing.
(1) The development status of recycling waste textiles in foreign countries. In some developed countries, the recycling rate of textiles is very high, and chemical fiber is the main raw material of the textile industry. The technology of how to use these waste materials to successfully develop new products is becoming more and more mature, and people are paying more and more attention to it.
(2) The current situation of the recycling and reuse of waste textiles in China. our country has always attached great importance to the recycling of waste items, but the research on the recycling and reuse of waste textiles has just started. China has designed multifunctional cutting and shredding equipment, and pelletizing equipment can be used for recycling waste textiles.
