Why does one-sided weakness happen after a stroke?
Well, it’s important to remember that it’s a brain thing, not an arm thing. While muscle weakness may have something to do with it, essentially it’s a communication issue.
The brain has trouble communicating with the spinal cord and the muscles after a stroke. So movement may become limited.
